5 Years Old!

Aidan cannot wait until his 5th birthday party. He loves the fact that the picture is of him driving the go kart. Plus, he got to pick out the colors. I hope Prime Time works out as a venue. It can get pricey if you have too many kids, but they set everything up - including balloons and plates/cups and PIZZA! Everyone gets a game card with $5 on it. My plan is for the kids to ride the kiddie go karts together (or at least in two groups). Should be fun, but it was hard slimming down the list of kids to invite. Please don't get your feelings hurt if you don't get one.

Too Cute!

I think this turned out super cute. This is for a baby shower, but it could be for a birthday too.

Why Honeybee Ink?

Every gift store has at least one card rack with note cards or magnets with all the popular names. Well, my name means "honey bee" in Greek. It's fitting - I can be harmless, but provoke me and I can give a mean sting. Anyway, I use the computer as my ink, so Honeybee Ink is the perfect name for my cards.

According to Wikipedia:

In Greek mythology Melissa is the name of one of the nymphs that helped save Zeus from his father, Cronus. She hid him in the hills and fed him milk from Amalthea and honey. When Cronus discovered this, he turned her into a worm, but Zeus, in gratitude, changed her into a queen bee.

What does your name mean?

Welcome to Honeybee Ink Designs!

I love designing invitations! It's a creative outlet for me. I started making baby shower invitations by assembling different scrapbook papers and tying them with a bow. Once I had a baby of my own, my free time to sit around and tie invitations together was gone! So I started designing them on the computer.

That was over four years ago. Now I have several designs of my own. Plus I give coordinating thank you notes to the mother-to-be as my gift. I'll even do return addresses and have considered creating bag tags to match, too.

My friends seem to think my designs are cute, so I thought the public may too. What do you think?

If you like them, let me know. I'm considering different ways of selling them now - ebay, website, etc.
